Jordan Marsh Florida added a bona fide anchor to SUNRISE CENTER. The original 3-level building was dedicated in October 1960.

By 1961, SUNRISE CENTER was promoted as "Florida's Fifth Avenue." The facility had just been expanded with the aforementioned Jordan Marsh. A second Saks store (medium gray) had welcomed its first shoppers in November 1957.

A view of the ginormous "Jordan's," that fronted on the palm-lined Central Terrace of the mall. The building's upper levels, added in the mid-1960s, are clearly visible.
