The Cutler Ridge Cinema was the first theatrical venue to operate in the complex. Promoted as "The Showplace of South Dade", it made its debut in April 1963.

A circa-1963 site plan includes the new Cutler Ridge Cinema. The movie house, with entrance "thru the mall", was built in the rear parking area and was accessed via a landscaped courtyard.
