NORTHSIDE CENTER, circa-1960. This was one of the few malls in the United States with an overhead system of freight delivery and storage. This concept had been used at Houston's MEYERLAND PLAZA (1957) and later came into play at New York City's KINGS PLAZA (1970). In 1960, NORTHSIDE CENTER covered approximately 491,200 leasable square feet. There was free parking for 3,000 autos.
