CENTURY III MALL was in a downward spiral for a number of years. In mid-2018, there were just eleven stores in operation in a complex with space for over 200. Stalwarts J.C. Penney and Dick's Sporting Goods were the only stores anchoring the mall. Dick's pulled up stakes in early 2019.

The C III mall's final trademark was an updated version of its 1979 logo. This old & improved symbol was in use in early 2019, when the mall's last group of inline stores closed for good. The final operational tenant, J.C. Penney, shut down in late 2020.
