Sears anchored Greater Los Angeles' POMONA VALLEY CENTER mall. The store, encompassing 111,500 square feet, commenced operation in November 1954. It has been determined, by default, to be the chain's very first full-line, shopping mall-format store.

The iconic Sears script nameplate was used on Annapolis, Maryland's PAROLE PLAZA store. It opened its doors in May 1962 and consisted of 73,000 square feet of selling space.
