Sears built a 3-floor store at MONDAWMIN CENTER. It opened for business as part of the mall's October 1956 dedication.

The MONDAWMIN Sears included a freestanding Auto Center and Service Station. This anchored the east end of the complex for 16 years.

Before Sears units began to incorporate Coffee House-branded cafes, stores -such as the one anchoring MONDAWMIN CENTER- often featured a Peggy Kellogg Snackette.

Lerner Shops, one of forty-seven charter MONDAWMIN tenants, operated a 21,000 square foot store.
