OAK PARK MALL opened -in August 1975- with two anchor stores; Macy's and Montgomery Ward. Stix, Baer & Fuller would be dedicated in February 1976. J.C. Penney debuted in October. With the completion of all four anchors, the shopping hub housed a total of 154 store spaces and spanned approximately 1,210,800 leasable square feet. Its vast parking area accommodated 6,700 autos.
