The center section of the mall was expanded with a second level in 1993-1994. This stretched between the Main Entrance / Food Court and a newly-built J.C. Penney. Existing Liberty House and Sears stores were also enlarged. With these improvements, the shopping hub spanned approximately 572,800 leasable square feet, housed 110 stores and maintained free parking provisions for 2,900 autos.

The KA'AHUMANU mall has housed two different movie theaters. The first, known as the Village Cinema and then Ka'ahumanu Center Theater, was a single-screen venue in operation between 1975 and 1992. The Kaahumanu 6-plex is seen above. This theater opened as part of the 1993-1994 renovation.
