The Pacific Theatres Grossmont Center 10 started out as a triplex venue, in December 1983. It was expanded to 8-screens in May 1995 and to 10 in 1999. The complex was rebranded by the Reading Cinemas chain in February 2008.

The mall's Bullock's was shuttered in April 1993. A Target set up shop in the vacant store in July 1995. Montgomery Ward went dark in March 2001 and was followed by the Wal-Mart seen here, in May 2004. This made GROSSMONT CENTER one of the few US malls to feature both Target and Wal-Mart stores.
