A Westfield property since early 1999, the mall was substantially enlarged during the aforementioned 2003-2005 makeover. By the time of this 2006 layout, the center was officially being promoted as WESTFIELD WHEATON.

By 2012, a vacant anchor store on the south side of the mall had been knocked down and replaced by a vertically-stacked structure housing Costco, Dick's Sporting Goods, Jo-Ann Fabrics and a Lower Level parking deck. WESTFIELD WHEATON now spanned approximately 1,650,300 leasable square feet and contained 195 stores under its roof.
