Weinstock's anchored the north end of SUNRISE MALL with a "cubistic", '70s Brutalist-type store. The chain's sixth branch, it became the shopping hub's first operational tenant in February 1972.

Honolulu-based Liberty House anchored the southeast corner of the original mall. This store was dedicated in October 1972.


In this circa-'72 view, we see the interior of the Liberty House court. It was located in the southern half of the mall.
