The largest anchor store in the complex is the 225,000 square foot Macy's. It began its commercial life, in 1967, as a J.W. Robinson's. This store morphed into Robinsons-May in January 1993 and Macy's, in September 2006.

One of many Outdoor Paseos at FASHION ISLAND. In this view we have the southwest promenade, which was added to the mall in the late 1970s. The Macy's seen in the background sported four different nameplates over its 30-year existence. The building was razed in 2007.
