Atlanta's Ansley Mall

Stores in Midtown Atlanta's mini-mall began opening in the fall of 1965. The earliest operational tenants were SupeRx Drugs, Kroger, Economy Auto and Sand Bar Casuals. An official grand opening was held in April 1966, when the largest store -an F.W. Woolworth 5 & 10- welcomed its first shoppers.

Donna Douglas, co-star of CBS-TV's "The Beverly Hillbillies," was one of three Hollywood actresses who cut a ceremonial ribbon at the dedication of ANSLEY MALL, in early 1966. She was assisted by Sue Ane Langdon (on the left) and Nancy Kovack (on the right). The trio were on a national promotional tour for "Frankie and Johnny," a feature film they had just made with Elvis Presley.
