By 2008, all four anchor stores have been enlarged. Lazarus completed a southward addition in late 1978. The store morphed into a Lazarus-Macy's in August 2003 and full-fledged Macy's in February 2005. Sears finished a small addition in early 1979. J.C. Penney concluded their expansion in mid-1984, with Elder-Beerman growing into adjoining store space in late 1994. LIMA MALL now covered approximately 847,000 leasable square feet.

By mid-2021, the mall is in pretty dire straits. Elder-Beerman, in operation since September 1975, was shuttered in January 2016. The demise of the mall's 52-year-old Sears would follow, in September 2018. Macy's pulled their proverbial plug in March 2021. Out of a total of fifty-seven store spaces, eighteen are now vacant.
